DC Tourists are Professionals

I’ve never seen it done this way before, but who am I to judge. These people actually brought a tripod for their little crappy point-and-shoot camera. The tripod is bigger than the camera! I guess they all wanted a piece of the action. I mean, would you want your kid to grow up thinking you only attended half of the family vacation? It also solves one problem, since we Americans hate to be bothered by tourists to take their pictures. Maybe this saves them face?

What are they even getting a picture of?!

Actually, nothing. The only thing behind them was the crowd, the street, and far off in the distance, the White House. As you can see from the photo, the Christmas Trees and giant Menorah were on the other side of the camera.

I should mention that there was a huge crowd in front of the fence in front of the White House, as well as several traffic blockade’s, so there was no possibility of having the WH show up in the photo.
